About YPR

Yellowstone Public Radio consists of four radio stations and 28 translators in Montana and northern Wyoming. KEMC (Billings), KBMC (Bozeman), KYPR (Miles City), and KPRQ (Sheridan, WY) are licensed to Montana State University-Billings. The translators are licensed to Montana State University-Billings and many other entities in the region such as counties, cities, community colleges, translator associations, etc.

Around 35,000 people listen to Yellowstone Public Radio each week from a population base of approximately 300,000 people in Montana and Wyoming who receive our signal.

Yellowstone Public Radio Mission Statement
Yellowstone Public Radio provides in-depth news, public affairs, and cultural programming to a general adult audience in Montana and northern Wyoming--more specifically, news which focuses on meaning and detail; public affairs which offers complete expression of ideas and the opportunity for listener discussion; and cultural programming expressing heritage and innovation in the arts and humanities.

National Public Radio Mission Statement
The mission of National Public Radio is to work in partnership with member stations to create a more informed public--one challenged and invigorated by a deeper understanding and appreciation of essential events, ideas, and cultures. To accomplish our mission, we produce, acquire, and distribute programming that meets the highest standards of public service in journalism and cultural expression; we represent our members in matters of their mutual interest; and we provide distribution of content and interconnection for the entire public radio system.
